Joey Slaggs

My name is Joey Skaggs and I am. Grateful Believer in Jesus Christ. I am in recovery for substance abuse issues and a lifetime of bad decisions. I gave my life to Jesus Christ on April 8th 2024 at a Celebrate Recovery in Hendersonville Tn. I walked in the doors of that CR after white knuckling sobriety for almost 2 years knowing thru AA/NA that I had to give my will over to a power greater than myself in order to stay off of fentanyl and meth but up until that point I’d continued to see myself as the greater power. That night at CR I heard a voice inside me say “I’ve been waiting for you and I have plans for your life.” I had already heard of spiritual experiences but never experienced one myself. Since that day when I say God has moved mountains, he has not only took the desire to use drugs away from me he has built a life of Hope for myself, my family who never thought they would get me back and allows me to work in a field and show others that they Jesus Christ, all things are possible. Most importantly I’ve learned how to lean into Christ and my hunger which once was for drugs and evil spirits, is now to learn more about my faithful God.
